I really wanted to get Ifo edit working, as I dont mind some movies on two disks, but following the guides available I always seemed to get to the same point and when trying to play on the Ifo edit DVD player I got the Illegal Navigation Message.
Last night I tried again and SUCCESS, two perfect splits which play on my Standalone Sony DVD player.
What I have been doing is selecting the ifo file, say when I want to alter the first PCG setting and immediately trying to play the new settings and guess what -same illegal nav message. What you have to do, is every time you alter an ifo file, save the changes MANUALLY using the SAVE button and when the dialog box comes up and asks if you want to overwrite, say YES , shut down Ifoedit and restart, open the ifo file again and try to play, SUCCESS..
OK sounds easy but the guides I have read don't make this clear, I assumed that, similar to when getting the sectors info at the end of the process where Ifoedit does automatically save all the ifos on the disc, it always did auto saves .
It just shows how easy it is to get things wrong and how difficult the art of communication really is.
Great program though........
Finally does any one know why I get the Message "No valid DVD etc do you want to continue anyway?, " when I try to use the Ifoedit DVD player, I just say yes and the player works anyway. It doesnt do it on my other PC.
Hope this helps Newbies like me.
