Hi,
I am looking for some very detailed articles about those audio formats (MP3/AAC/VORBIS)... how the encoding works, where the main differences are and stuff like this.
Would be nice if there are some completed articles about it, so I don't have to search for each information myself ;)

Vorbis is very well documented and includes source code. Check out its psychoacoustical model.

Essentially, they all work by masking certain (hopefully) inaudible sounds.
