I just ejected my CDRW's CD tray thing to find some darkish stains which look like someone's done a bad job of smearing oily fingers all over it. Same thing on my DVD disc tray.
What the hell? I can wipe it off with my finger, and it doesn't have the consistency of oil (though it looks like it when it's on the tray). This stuff isn't on any other part of my system, inside or out. Any ideas as to what it is?
It's almost as though some dye or something melted and sprayed around inside.
