Probably not news to the old timers, but thought this might save some people some pain.
I have used Ifoedit and CCE to back up a few 10s of DVDs, and thought I had it sorted out.
All of a sudden I started to get disks that worked in the Ifoedit player, but not on my standalone.
Long story and much pain/disks/time later I found the cause.
As I was using CCE and Maestro to reduce file size, I was generating a LAY file, that was occassionally sneeking into the final Video_TS directory. When the DISK IMAGE button is pressed on Ifoedit, the "Get VTS sectors" is applied to the folder, including any stray files.
When the disk image is built, the disk image tool ignores the stray files, and also misses off any Vobs that are not contiguously numbered.
(1,2,4 only creates a disk image containing 1,2)
If I open the failed disks in Ifoedit and run Get VTS Sectors, then Ifoedit shows that adjustments are required (strangely cant save to the DVD-R :-)) )
If I open the working disks then there is no such error.
Both IFoedit and the image tool are doing what they should. So make sure there is nothing "extra" left over in your Video_vts file before you make your image.
Either worthy of a sticky or a bleeding obvious award !:D
