subtitels probleem ( not the color)

i have a (backup) dvd with many subtitels when i play i in

- powerd dvd; EVERY subtitel plays fine
- My dvd player; EVERY subtitel plays fine
- when i play it on a player form a friend of mine; ONLY the FIRST
subtitels will be played when i press the <SUBTITLE> button on
the remote the OSD sayed he changed it to a other language
but the TITELS STAY on ENGLISH

what can be wrong ?

Derrow, can you give me a anwser ?? it's verry strange but i have see it with my own eys....

on my Philips 722 everything goes fine
on a REVOY and a PIONEER 350 there are ONLY ENGLISH ??
on my player and power dvd there are many subtitels
