I have 2 movies, ironicaly at the same time and both need to be re-incoded to fit onto DVD-R. In DVD2AVI they are Video type FILM and frame type is jumping CONSTANTLEY Progressive/Interlaced it is steady back and forth.
How do i tell DVD2AVI to handle it and ultimatley what do i tell CCE?
Bitrateviewer says they are interlaced.

If it is constantly flipping it is almost definitely a FILM source that has RFF flags set. You'll see that clearly if you ever run DVD2AVI against an M2V that you've encoded at 23.976 and then ran PULLDOWN against it. It looks exactly as you describe.
Set DVD2AVI to "FORCE FILM" then encode it as progressive in CCE (the output from DVD2AVI will be 23.976). After it has completed, run PULLDOWN against it to make it 29.97 again.

Another clue to it being film source is that if you run DVD2AVI in "normal" I.E NOT forced film mode, and do a preview (press F5) then check the frames read and frames encoded stats the two figures will be different...
If it's true interlaced 29.9 fps drop frame then they will be the same.. but if it's FILM with flags as mentioned by jdobbs then frames read and frames encoded will show different numbers...
