Hey all, just wanted to say that everyone here is great with all the helpful information. This forum is priceless.

I have two issues that I can't seem to work out. I checked previous posts and can't seem to find a good resolution.

I use Chapter Xtractor to extract chapter points from a DVD title. I use DVD2AVI and Force Film the movie. When I add the chapters file to Maestro the chapter points are off. One was off by exacxtly 12 seconds on each chapter. Another was 45sec. I have other titles that worked out fine using the same process. An example is Panic Room, it worked out fine, but Showgirls was exactly 12 seconds off. I manually adjusted the time codes on the file and it worked. Am I missing something? I make sure that the fps settings in Chapter Xtractor are set to 23fps but this does not do a thing.

Second issue is a captured video using a Pinnacle DV500 card. Using the AVI file with AVIsynth and CCE 2.64. The file encodes for a while then stops. I know others expressed having similar problems. CCE does not appear crashed, it is running but the encoding has stopped in the window and it does not seem to be doing anything. I installed the replacement dll file posted in another message and it did nothing. Using the AVI file directly works fine, just cannot get AVIsynth to work. Same thing happens when trying to encode and DVD rip. CCE appears to be running but in a sleep mode. VFAPI works fine. Would like to benefit from better speed though.

Any help is appreciated.
Thanks.

rather than running the AVI file captured with the DV500 (a MS DV AVI i think) thru avisynth or vfapi, CCE 2.64 and higher natively supports DV Avi files, and 2.5 and 2.62 support DV avi files with a DV codec installed.

i used to use avi fourcc changer from www.inmatrix.com to change it to the Canopus DV Codec (which is a decompressor only and a free download from www.canopuscorp.com) which is CDVC, and CCE 2.62 worked fine with it with over 2gb avi files, 2.50 doesnt support over 2gb avi at all.

Thanks for the tip. I did load the AVI file directly into CCE and it works fine. Just a bit slow. I'll try adding your suggested Codec.

Thanks

dont bother with the added codec, wrote the reply then red they you're running 2.64, basically the same speed with the canopus decoder, or the ms dshow DV decoder.
