Hi,

I have successfully converted several DVD movies with DVD2SVCD, but I got problems when I tried to convert a Mini-DV film (captured to AVI).

I captured with Premiere 6.0 and then I converted to SVCD with DVD2SVCD version 1.0.9 build 3, and the conversion went fine, but the problems appeared when I tried to look at the film with
PowerDVD. I got fault code : "DVD error, Error Code : 89030000, Unknown file format".

Do anyone know what's the problem ??!!

Generally how should the conversion of AVI's be done ? This is how I'm doing :

1.) Capture with Premiere 6.0.

2.) Convert the AVI file with Canopus DV File Converter. Is this necessary ?! and which codec should I use ? I used "Premiere compatible Canopus AVI (AVI2)".

I read somewhere about the file called dvcodec. I have installed it but I don't know which program that is using it ? Is Canopus DV File Converter using the dvcodec ?

3.) Convert with DVD2SVCD version 1.0.9 build 3.

4.) Map the file with Daemon tools.

5.) Play the produced file with PowerDVD. This is where I got fault code : "DVD error, Error Code : 89030000, Unknown file format".

Could anyone please help me ?!

Can you play the .MPG file created by DVD2SVCD (AVI2SVCD mode, of course)?
Try to use DVD2SVCD's image creation functions. Burn the image to a CD-R(W) and try to play it in PowerDVD (should work at least with PowerDVD 4).
