I ripped a movie the other day. Somehow the ifo file is missing? I everything else it seems... I no longer have the dvd so I can NOT rip that?
I then choose recover and found the D2v file but when I choose to load it I get an error? The errror is
I/O error 131
Is there another way I can get the process going again??? It doesn't make any sense. I even tried to restore the pc to an earlier date thinking my kid might have been messing with the pc and deleted the file somehow? Any rate its still not there.....
Can I do this another way????
Thanks

Problem posts go in the Basic section...
To fix your problem, use IFOEdit to remake the IFO from the VOBs. This problem is due to an issue where DVD2SVCD erroneously (I believe) deletes the IFO.

Rip an IFO file off another DVD that has the same framerate and aspect ratio. Then simply make sure you change the name to reflect the names of the VOB files. The simplest way it to rip it into another directory and then copy it over to the right place, after which you can erase the other ripped DVD.
You can also try loading the D2S file again making sure that you have unchecked ripping. Make sure ripping stayed unchecked after you load the D2S file.
You also broke forum rule #9 Do not use special characters to draw attention to your post. In this case the three ?. If you feel the need to use a ? then 1 is enough.

? ? I didn't even realize I posted 3 question marks in my question. I am so so sorry for breaking rule number nine.. I am new here as you can see from the number of posts I have made? But to me after looking at all the SEARCHES I have done there is alot of flaming going on about rule breaking and not doing searches...
It takes a person awhile till he gets to know what he or she can do and can not do? I am sorry if anyone gets mad over this, but I did not know I was trying to draw attention to my post? I thought just posting the question would do that in itself? But hey, Thats my opinion.
Thanks for your help and your time.

spankey it's ok. Notice the way my reply was worded. First was the answer then the reminder. If I felt it was more serious then I would have reversed the wording and if it was real bad then a strike would have been issued. So this was a mild friendly reminder not a slap. We like our forum neat and tidy.
BTW we don't flame here. We give a slap on the wrist like the Nuns do. So see we are doing heavenly work. ok maybe not.
Most of the hitting on searching is out of frustration more then anything else. For those that have been here for some time we see the same questions asked again and again and again and again. I think you get the point. A simple search serves two masters you and us. You learn the answer without having to waite for a reply and we don't have to answer the same thing 100 times a month. It takes less then a minute to search.

Markrb-
Sorry if I got a little hostile? I understand about the searching. And no matter what forum I am on, I always try to search my question out before I post it. I to get tired of looking at same issues over and over again. But then again, yeah some are repeat offenders, but others somewhat at times are new to that specific forum...
I did in fact search out IFO and was returned like 100 posts..Arggg... I searched through several but none stated the help you and Ultimate offered(by the way it worked thank you!) so I decided to post my topic...
You know there must be some serious re-posting going on here when you have to wait 5 days till you can post a new topic as a new member... No slap intended. Good security.. But eventually they must get in somehow. Right..
Markrd and Ultimate, thanks for your help you saved my movie and my son's sanity. The movie was for him... Actually a "P'oed" seven year old? Hmmm You saved my sanity.:D LOL

Sorry if I got a little hostile?
Not even close to hostile. Believe me I know what hostile looks like and you are not it. You have been nothing, but reasonable and an asset to this forum.
I am glad it worked and I am sure you will continue to be a valued member of this forum.
Sometimes even though it has been answered before finding the correct key words can be hard. I know this from experience. Several times I have tried to find an old post that I needed the info from, but can't remember the title or good keywords and you end up looking for hours for that stupid post.
I have loosened up a bit over this issue when it's not one of the constant questions. The easiest way not to get hit here is just to make a note you did try a search for it.

All the mods got together a few months back and tried to come up with a plan to get rid of the "one hit wonders" and trouble makers.
These are the people that come in ask one question that has been asked constantly and then leave to never be heard from again or they come here just to create trouble and start flame wars. What was decided after much debate was a waiting period and a set of strict rules with the "3 strike" idea. The waiting period has done great things to get rid of the real trouble makers and cut way down on the same questions, but we still get them.
Right before we came up with this strategy 2 boards like this one closed because the owners got sick of babysitting the "idiots" that was causing the more valuable members to leave. We knew if we didn't do something the same would happen here.
We can be rough, but in truth it's out of a desire to run the best possible forum. Sometimes we go a bit overboard, especially in this forum, but we do the best we can.
Please come back and enjoy the stay.
