I have a few questions about ripping with dvd2svcd. The second may in fact belong to the decrypting section, but I hope you don't mind...

1. If I use the internal routines, are the decrypted vob files compatible with DivX encoders, like GKnot, mpeg2avi and FlasK?

2. I would like to encode to both mpeg2 and mpeg4 the Dolby Digital intros that you usually find in DVD's. I recently found one such clip, which was in the same title set with the main movie. I picked up the main ifo, dvd2svcd proposed of course the movie, but I selected the clip from the dropdown box.

Frankly speaking, because I had the doubt I'm talking of in point (1) above, I selected vStrip for the rip. I waited there for more than 10 minutes, it was obvious that vStrip was decrypting (both the DVD drive and the HD were in action...), but the progress bar in dvd2svcd was not moving, and at the end I got bored waiting... Now, I was in rush to return the dvd to the club, so I didn't test with the internal routines  I launched SR and finished in few seconds (the intro is just 35 sec long). dvd2svcd complained when I loaded the ifo file, so it offered me to select the vob files instead. Cool! ;) No prob with the vob file, it encoded like a charm.

Could someone explain why vStrip was so slow?

I doubt it was actually taking that long. Most likely there was an error or something of that sort. Perhaps an infinite loop? Who knows, just a guess...
