Even though this falls under the forum rule #12 I am in a good mood and you seem like a nice person.

BTW Forum rule number 12:
Do not ask "what's best" because this question cannot be answered objectively. Each and everyone has their own view about what's best in a certain area. The best is what works best for you!

Anyway if it was me I would change the CBR to 4 pass VBR. This will raise the bitrate in complex scenes so it should look better given the same number of discs. However this will make your encodes take around 4 times longer and you don't seem to have the fastest computer.

For Me 192 Audio is usually plenty good enough unless it's very audio intense. This will give you a little more room for video on the disc, having the affect of raising the video bitrate a tad. I do about 95% of my movies at 192.

My best suggestion is to play with it.

Read the forum both here and in the advanced section and learn about the workings behind the scenes. The more you know the better you can tweak it the way you like. It took me months just to get really comfortable with everything and I will never be done tweaking and trying new things.

Thanks markb for not flaming me, sorry if i violated the rules but i guess what i was asking was if there is anything that I should not be doin.

Actually my cce speed is usually about 1.405 dont know why i achieved this speed.

also i would turn on anti noise filter ( i use a value of 12 ) and also bump up image quality from 5! the default is 17, i use 19-22 depending on my source.

and of course, like mark said use at least 160 audio, i prefer 192 or 224 but depending on how low my video bitrate goes is how i decide which audio bitrate to use...(i.e if it's near the border for your bitrate settings i use lower audio so video is higher...say for example if for 2 cd's of size 800mb you have 85-110 minutes...if the movie is around 90 minutes i would use the higher audio because the video will still be high...on the other hand if it's closer to 100-110 minutes i would use 160 so im not degrading my video any more by using a higher audio.

make sense?

Thanks again, in regard to antinoise filter if the source is a dvd I thought you could get away with no anti noise filter. ill try the sound tip.

hoozdapimp I have to disagree a little on the anti noise filter. Most of the time I think a lower level is fine or even off, but there are some that could use it. I have been waivering heavily on this one so my recomendations can change.

I do agree that the Image Quality Priority could be higher. I go higher then you though going between 22-25 depending. I find it gives much less contouring noise that tends to be seen easier then other types. At 5 I feel the image is just poor. Way to much noise around foreground objects.

Markrb is correct as i've used it in the past, and after trying it with different settings i find a setting of "off" or a low setting in some cases is the way to go. I guess its all in the eyes and what you prefer to.
