View Full Version : Dragon Ball Z faultyness?

I've ripped the first 5 dvds of the dragon ball z set.. The first dvd was around 90 minutes long (they are episodel but are all on the same chapters(which made 2 disks)) The second and third dvd are around 65 minutes long and they seem to glitch really bad about half way through (they are one disk) The voices talk for a second glitch for a second talk for a second glitch.. Same way with the video. And the 4th and 5th dvd are the same length and do just about the same as the 2 and 3.. Only they glitch out from the get go.. I can't figure out for the life of me what the hell I'm doing wrong to make the first disk work and the other 4 not work. My cd sizes are 801 accrossed the board with 0-50 disk 1, 50-73 disk 1, 73-100 disk 2, 100-125 disk 2.. And I'm using CCE 2.5.. Any help on this matter would be greatly appreciated.

OS= Windows XP pro
1.3 GHZ Intel chipset
I've ripped many movies before with the config I'm using.
I don't know of any other usefull information for this particular question.. If I have left out somthing I'm sorry.. I've been readin in the background for some months now.. I just couldn't find the answer to this one..

//new edit Sorry forgot to mention I'm using NTSC

Post your log files, and also do you get the glitch when you play the cue/bin files in your software dvd player like windvd or powerdvd?

This was some time ago that I ripped and I didn't think to keep the log files however I will be ripping another dbz dvd tommorow so I can give log files then.. Also the images I never checked either so I can do that as well.

That's my log file... and it's odd it doesn't seem to glitch on the bin cue files on my drive.. All though it didn't play the whole dvd either.. but it didn't glitch one single bit.. Also I use nero to burn. With verbatim 700mb cdr's... (the same tools I've used to burn all other 100+ of my movies)

chainsaw135
6th October 2002, 20:50
Well if you could try the "fool proof way of burning svcd's" Go download deamon tools which it's free, then load the cue/bin file in to deamon tools and then open up your nero and select "cd copy" and burn it that way.

I've got daemon tools, I'll give that a shot.. If that doesn't work are their any other ideas?

Min. bitrate: 1900

i don't know, but that seems very strange...perhaps cce got messed up? check your bitrate tab

H3llB0und

2400 and 1900 is what I have it set at.. but that would mean That it's messing up every time.. Also now I notice on another one of these it's cutting off the last portion of the disk. but it's showing 1 hour and 2 minutes with 3 chapters )which I know are the episodes) one @ 19 minutes one @ 23 minutes and one at 24 minutes and some small chapters.. So if it see's all of em why is it that it's not ripping them all?

//EDIT I also checked exactly when it cuts the last portion of the movie off and it does it @ 48 minutes.. When it should be 61 minutes 58 seconds long.. but their is no chapter split at 48 minutes.. So I dunno why in the world it does that. and I've ripped twice now. Both times the end is cut.

hoozdapimp

try switching min to 1523 and max to 1900 and see if that works?

H3llB0und

That had no effect.

UltimateDBZ

What ripper(s) have you tried?

H3llB0und
8th October 2002, 00:42
Just internal Svcd rippers.. Why, you have another suggestion bro.. Am getting desperate here.. I even tried to seperate the chapters and it's still cutting them off by like 5-10 minutes.

UltimateDBZ
8th October 2002, 01:07
Couldn't hurt to try a couple others then. (In order) Try vStrip, then SmartRipper. Post back results, please.

Could also try using TMPGEnc if CCE is messing up. I use both, depending. I usually use CCE when I use DVD2SVCD and TMPGEnc when I'm converting manually. (I've decided that AVI2SVCD tab doesn't work with bitrates of 15fps, audio samples that aren't to the right specs, and PAL. [Don't have a PAL capable DVD player.]) Don't get mad at me for suggesting this, I'm trying to help. If CCE doesn't work, you have to try elseware. Truthfully, I can't really tell the difference in quality, but that's me. I also can't tell the difference in audio encoders. Like mentioned a lot, it's to your own preferences.

my 2nd post and already trying to help :D

anyways i had this problem with my memento backup. If the cue-bin files work with no problem then try restarting your computer and then playing them for like 10 minutes.

also, use daemon tools. Hope this helps. It worked for me. This is all i did and it fixed my svcd (after i made 2 glitchy ones)

H3llB0und
8th October 2002, 13:26
Well now it seems that the real problem isn't the glitchyness.. At least not at the moment.. Right now the real problem is the fact that it is cutting the last 10 minutes or such of the movie...

H3llB0und
8th October 2002, 14:48
@UltimateDBZ Ok, Tried vstrip and smart ripper.. Same out come. Any other suggestions as to why it's cutting a part of my movie out..? I read through some older posts looking for 'missing minutes' and in 1.06 with the way bbmpeg was doing it's thing.? but I'm using 1.0.9 B3.. Am I overlooking somthing stupid.. Or is this a real problem?

H3llB0und
8th October 2002, 20:53
I just checked the muxed mpeg, and it has the entire movie.. So it must be some stage after it's encoded.. Any advice as far as this problem?

chainsaw135
8th October 2002, 21:50
You could try doing the final step by hand using VcdImager or Vcdeasy since your mpeg files are not corrupt or cut short then that should solve your problem

UltimateDBZ
8th October 2002, 23:22
Chainsaw's suggestion should work nicely, but I'd like to try and get to the bottom of this issue, should I ever find the need to convert my own dbz dvd's, and I'm sure other readers want to as well, considering the popularity ;)

So, please post the xml file created by DVD2SVCD for VCDXBuild. There might be a problem with it somewhere...

H3llB0und
9th October 2002, 13:27
Will do.. I'll rerip it one more time then ;) I'll post the xml documents and another log :)

Ok heres an update.. This is very strange. When I made the amount of minutes per disk smaller to make it use 2 cd's.. The images still messed up.. but near as I can tell the muxed mpegs are right.. BUT for trying to make 61 minutes on what disk. the muxed mpeg was only 24 minutes.
This gets more weird by the second.

Ok it's still not working.. I give up.. lol Thanks for the help guys but I give up... For reference dvd # 7 is what is messing up.. I am currently trying to rip #8 to see if it's a problem with all of them...
