View Full Version : Cue files have no sound

stroller
4th October 2002, 16:49
I have used DVD2svcd on a number of occassions in the past but have recently had a problem where the finished cue files have no sound.
The bbmpeg_muxed file contains sound but not the finished article. I can't see any error message in the log files.
Any suggestions as to what is going on?

what are you using to play the resulting SVCD file prior to burning (which I assume you haven't done yet)?

Try using crash recovery and restart at making image (forget what it's called) if you can. Shouldn't take too long at all. Delete or move the SVCD files first.

If that doesn't work, post the resulting xml file that, if memory serves, should be in the same directory after image creation is finished.

I am using Daemon tools to play the cue file.
The machine or programme (as far as I am aware) did not crash.
I am not certain what you mean by crash recovery - as you can see from the log there is no error message.
I assume you mean rerun the image making programme I will have a look to see if I can follow that.
I'll be back

I have just had a look and think the programme you mean is VCDXBuild.
There is an alternative choice of VCDImager- Should I be using this one instead?

Is there a record for replying to your own posts?
I have tried to run the vcxbuild file but since its in Dos I am lost. However from re reading the original posting I assume there is a way to recover from within the DVD2VCD package that I don't know about.
Finally I attach the xml file Strangely, my computer is associating it with Dreamweaver!!!! Is it mistaking it for an Html file and thereby the cause of the problem.

Under DVD2SVCD Misc Tab you will see somethign called recover. That allows you to restart the process at various points (in event of crashing). You shold read the guide in detail since this is covered in there. Guides can be found under the doom9 homepage and there are at least 3 of them from basic to advanced reference. Also do a search and you'll find lots of info that way.

Try to recover from the make image point (or something like that) and see if that solves your problem. VCDXbuild should work fine, but alternately you can also try VCDImager and see if you still get no sound.

Frankly, it's hard for me to understand what the image making program has to do with your problem since it doesn't really do anything to the files other than put them in the right directories on the CDR and author the menu (if you have one). If the BBMpeg muxed file plays sound then there should be no problem.

Try loading the SVCD with Daemon tools and playing with a s/w dvd player. If you don't have sound, then I would venture a guiess the problem is with the BBMPeg muxed files. You can restart DVD2SVCD from this point and try again.

PS
In your original message you mentioned cue files, these aer not the actual files. the .bin files have the mpegs in them. The cue file is kind of like an instruction manual for the burn s/w.
