I have been using DVD2SVCD to make svcd's with much success. I really like the chapters and everything it does. My problem lies in after I dump the bin and cue and I need to make a new copy of the SVCd I have. I have tried many CDR programs with little success.
CDRWIN, discjuggler, Nero, clonecd, and blindwrite. I can pull the mpeg out put it into Nero and burn a new svcd. but I loose all the chapters and everything that DVD2SVCD has created for me. Is there any way to make an exact copy of this type of SVCD? It seems that the files are either to large or they seem to have read errors when I try to read them.
I would appreciate any input on this.
Thanks

Thanks for the reply, but it is just not that simple I have tried a simple disk copy and it won't work for some reason the disks look as if they are to large. Most read 823 to 860mb. So even overburning doesn't work. Are you able to do a simple disk copy of your SVCD's that you created with DVD2SVCD? If so maybe you can elaborate on what your SVCD's size read as? Any other info would be helpful.
Sorry I posted here. If a moderator would like to move this that is fine. I thought it was a little more advanced. I have looked through the posts and see others have had the same types of probnlems but there answers didn't seem to help me.

The fact that there is more data isn't a problem, that's the way it always is because more raw data can fit on a CD than otherwise. Have you tried making an image from the CD and then burning that image?

Perhaps you are trying to copy overburned SVCDs? What exactly is the problem when doing the copy with a program like cloneCD, which accepts errors in input? What doesn't work?

Either use nero to make an image file of it then reburn it or just use cloncd and make a direct copy of it. I do it frequently for friends and it works just fine.

@mace i'm not sure why you are posting this in the advanced section as all problem posts go in to the dvd2svcd section, i'm sure it was a mistake so i wont strike you this time. Now on to your problem i've been able in tests to burn 830mb on a 800mb cdr thats overburning with my lite-on. Some people get different results then that but 860mb is not going to fit on an 800mb cdr. You can get yourself 900mb cdr's and that will solve your problem thats why i'm not sure why your even asking this in the first place when the answer is pretty obvious. 1 more thing you can fit more then 800mb of information on these disks because its in mode 2 not the data mode 1 which has a different error correction and takes up more space leaving you with less space to burn your information with.

Isn't there a way to extract it if you have the original XML file with VCDEasy? I always have DVD2SVCD set to burn the XML file on the disc/image.

Hi mace!
I guess you try to make 1:1 copy by copying the files of your SVCD to another CD. But just copying the files and directories will never give you a real 1:1 copy, there are too much other parameters, that typify your SVCD.
You have to do, what the others said. Make an image oy your SVCD and then burn it. That schould work.

remember when doing 1:1 copies...anything works, nero, clonecd, discjuggler, etc. Your source DAE must be high enough to burn at your burn speed. I use lite-on 16x dvdrom (37X DAE speed) to burn with lite-on 32X burner and it works just fine. DMA enabled of course on both drives. It takes 3mins 50secs each full SVCD to copy.

What I have learned about SVCD image extraction from and existing SVCD CDR to make a SVCD copy.
No matter what program you use, CloneCD, CDRWin or any other to make the image of the SVCD from an existing CDR, always turn off error correction in the software. If you do not you will get artifacts in the form of blocks and freezes.
