SOOOO if anyone had some kind of a guide or something please tell me...I ould really like to make this into a SVCD...Who in the hell came up with the idea of a .OGM format anyway....couldve just converted it to an Mpeg 2 instead...wouldve been the quality...Jeez...!

This is dvd2svcd section, i'm not sure why you would post in here as you can tell that has nothing to do with your question. This is a warning next time you will get a strike you can read the rules at the top and also read the sticky's in the different forums sections dont be lazy as around here it will not be tolerated

I finally converted the DAMN .OGM file...If I change the extension to AVi and load it in TMPGEnc it won't work ! BUT what does work is that you change the .OGM Extension to .AVI. There is a program called AVI2VCD and has a little program called Decompressor. Load up you .OGM/.AVI file into and it and Decompress it. It will be a fairly larger AVI considering that you Decompressed the audio BUT anywho it WILL be a regular AVI. Then you can load it in TMPGEnc and Convert....
Enjoy !!!:D

:/
well.. okay, you're noobsauce, so I won't go off on you too bad, but ogg (ogm) is a much better container than avi for holding mpeg-4 video, vorbis audio, and subtitles. With ogg you can store multiple video, audio, and subtitle streams as well as chapter points in the container itself. Show me an avi that can do that. On top of that, the container has no relevance to the quality, the video codec used is what matters. And if it was DivX 5 or XviD, fat chance mpeg-2 would've looked better.
Oh and teh funniest thing is that tmpg can read ogg files directly, so you didnt need the avi2vcd steps at all.
And it was the people here (http://www.xiph.org) who came up with it.

I re-read the first post and it didnt seem any different :/
anyhow, you were the one to blaspheme ogg first, so I'm allowed to criticize ;P
and did you try to load the ogm file into TMPG directly? It should work if you have the ogg dsf installed :)

I can't play .OGM files on my PC..I have installed the .OGG Filter and the subtitle filter....still didn't work..I loaded it in TMPGEnc it gave an error..so I just decided to make it into an SVCD and see how it turned out..it worked :D

If Im not mistaken is that Edward from Cowboy Bebop....?
New question came to mind...considering that .OGM files have 2 track..lets say they do...this new one I think does..is there anyway to convert the file with BOTH tracks (English/Japanese) including the subtitle option available...:D

yepp :D
well, I guess technically if you're encoding directly in tmpg with the latest oggds you'd be able to select the audio and subtitle stream and have them sort of play into the encoder, although I dont know if the method you're using reads it through directshow. If it does, you can do that, if not, you'd have to demux the ogm file back into the original srt, vorbis, and avi files, which you can do with some of the tools floating around (look for the 'tools for ogg media files' thread in the new a/v formats and you should find the demuxer. Or you could even use the virtualdub hack that supports ogm)
