Just a simple question about subtitle positioning...
Is there any way to tell DVD2SVCD to move subtitles
slightle above or below the default position? I've tried
something (I don't remembar what it was) but only managed to
either remove them or put them above the image. I just want to
move them a little bit...

Although it's a simple question that a "search" or even better, reading the FAQ would solve, click and hold "GO" in the conversion window, and go to preview. If u plan to watch it on TV, mind you that 450 although seems ideal, goes almost half below the screen on most occasions.
I'm just back from the dentist and still full of novocaine shots, so I love everybody! ::D

Ouch man... this is gonna be worse than expected. Let's see:
as far as I can see on the DVD2SVCD official FAQ, and doing a search by 'subtitle', I could find nothing about subtitle positioning...
Am I wrong? Well but.. that's not the end of the story :o
I do as you say, run DVD2SVCD, go to preview, look for the 450 you mention and... it is not there neither
Would you say we are talking about the same thing? :D
Well thanks anyway...

Let's see now, the FAQ is here (Sticky: DVD2SVCD Quick Guide and FAQ ):
http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=23668
and on the second posting by Markrb, it says:
"...You can use the "Preview" feature in the "Conversion" tab to find a good vertical position for your subtitles. Horizontally they will be centered automatically. ..."
I used the search button to do the above. :readfaq:
You have to enter the numerical value in the window next to "Y-Pos", or use the little tiny arrows. By personal experience, -1 (default) is the absolute best for viewing on TV.
PS1: Does the Marantz support SVCD or CVD subs?
PS2: Does it have better picture than the (now long dead) CH 528?
PS3: U r very lucky that I, being in a "high" mode, and feeling for you from your plight with the dead CH 528, answered your posting and not someone else. :scared: Please, Please use the search..
Subtitles have been discussed to the bone.
PS4: Novocaine is worn out, but Vicodin 4 times daily has (almost) same effect. Wheee!!!
PS5. PM me if you have any more Qs. Let's not bump this thread again, ok? Ciao!

Oh maybe there's a big confussion about all this...
I did search the FAQ before posting... believe me, I did it!
I found what you say... but tried it and didn't work for me.
That's precisely the reason why I posted!
This tab toy mention let's you (at least in my case) chose
between -1, 0 and +1. No more values!
-1 puts the subs below the scene. 0 simply makes them disappear (I mean, no subs in the preview), and +1 puts it above the scene. None of these choices work for me, since I would like to have them inside the scene and near the bottom. Furthermore, you mentioned something about a value being 450 which I can't find yet... would you really say it is there?
Please excuse me, I wouldn't be asking if I was not surprised...
I'm not trying to fight anybody.... as you said before, and even if I'm married, I love everybod too :)
I'll try to reply to the other question in a private e-mail.
Have fun and BIG THANKS !!

Just type 450. I have attached a picture so you can see what is meant.

Oh! Uh! Ah! BIG CARRAMBA !!
Now I know what you're talking about...
I'll try this out.

PD1: In physics, {A,B} is called 'the anticonmutator of A and B',
and it's simply {A,B}=AB+BA. Think of it as A and B being matrices, where the product doesn't commute. The reason why I wrote that is that I don't know who should I thank first, so that's the best combination.
PD2: Yes, I know... sadly enough, I'm going nuts.
