I've burned about 10 DVD's on DVD Pro (Grade A) White top with light purple dye.
So far my results have be great!
I took the DVD to my local Good guys and it played in almost all the standalones on the shelf (aprox 15 players) Took it to Target too and it played on all the lower price DVD players. The only player it would not play on is the Toshiba SD-4800 and the next model down from that.
Sony's , JVC, Mistubishi, Denon, Yamaha, Phillips..... all played!
Wasn't able to test it on Panasonic cuz GG did not have any to test.
Pioneer 104 1.20, Nero 5580, DVD Pro Grade A 1x
My buddy burned using 1.32 firmware on the same media and the DVD Pro disc played on all Good Guys DVD standalones...even the Toshiba SD- 4800 !
I'd say the 1.32 firmware provides even more standalone support that 1.20
I know, results vary, but with DVD Pro Grade A (Princos)..... I'm happy with the ElCheapo
DVD pros. They work on a bunch of stand alones and even at 1x, price is right.
Hope some of you can report that you've also had success with the DVD Pros. Let me know.....
