well i dont got the same player you got, but mine is region free thanks to a frmware update, try searching the internet for the word firmware and you model

could you tell me the page you got your firmware update from??
i found a page that has collected a real load of these region unlocking tricks for standalones, but all of them are not possible for pioneer products!
