I ordered a 25 pack of DVD-R Riteks from Supermedia Store in August. They worked perfectly on my Pioneer 103 and I didn't have single issue with any of them. Last week I ordered another 100 pack of Riteks from Supermedia Store. I went and tried one yesterday and all my Pioneer did was make clunking noises and it would never recongnize it. It would not stop making these noises until I took the dvdr out. I tried more, and more and more. Same thing.

I called and was told that yep, it had to be me, so I updated my formware which I didn't want to do. Same thing. They have agreed to take them back on an rma. Anyway, they asked if I wanted another pack of Riteks. I said I will wait for now.

I took several of the dvdr's out to CircuitCity and Bestbuy today and tried them in various computers. None of them worked in any of the machines. So I am left to think that maybe they sent me dvd+r's or it is a bad batch.

Here are the stats, purple on bottom, silver on top, inner ring is clear and C402RP207223747D216 is on that ring. Can anyone id these?

thanks....

Please use ADVDINFO tool and report to the sticky post.
You will find who is the real manufacturer of your DVD-R and what are the retail name(s) for it.
Do not forget to let us know which ones causes you problem.

I wish I could let all know, but the drive refuses to see a dvdr in it. It just whirls away. Can a dvdrom be able to use Advdinfo? I tried it but I kept getting aspi errors.
