Hi, I emcode a copy of collateral damge using TMPGEnc, authored it using spruceup then burned it using gear pro dvd on a Pioneer DVR-104. The first burn was was on a Generic blank that read TDK go2, vx. The movie looked great but would freeze near the end, I then burned it using a blank that read TDK go2, no vx. This one was even worst than the first one freezing all over the place. Anyone have any ideas on what could be going wrong. Thanks in advance!

The .....TDKG02 apparently is not that great and has compatibility issues on some players (pixelation, freezing)

The VX...TDKG02 gives better results.

In my case both play perfectly on the APEX 15000.

Can you try to copy the 2 DVD-Rs on your PC and see if you get read errors ?

I copied both DVD-R to my hard drive and didn't get a read error from either one. Oh, I have a Apex 1100W

it seems the 1100 model has problems playing dvd-r... well.. according to the ppl at nerd-out (a very large apex forum)...
1100w on nerd-out forums (http://www.nerd-out.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=21866&highlight=dvdr)

haha, and the apex 1500 will play just about anything...

quick question for the thxtof... is there ANY media u have used that doesn't work on the apex 1500? i bought one for my girl last year and the CRAPPY media that pixelates and freezes on my panasonic dvd player plays flawlessly on her apex 1500...

just curious so that i can avoid the very few media that don't play on the apex 1500..

oh btw, if it reads back 100% on the dvd-rom, doesn't that mean it's NOT the media... i think it means it's ur dvd player isn't too compatible with dvd-r...

Tr0LL, you'll be surprised with all the DVD-Rs that my APEX cannot read ;)

CDRecordable, ESbuy, meritline unbranded, vivastar... All these crap freeze, pixelate or even do not play at all in the APEX.

The only one working for me are Ritek G03 and TDK. That's it.

...And if you can read back the DVD-R on your PC, the media is not that bad, unlike the one I mentioned above  that I could not even back-up on another DVD
