Message to Meritline. Will it do any good?

I sent a copy of this message to Meritline. Although it will probably never happen, it sure would solve a lot of problems!

Have you ever considered listing the information provided by this application on the different blank DVD-Rs you sell? This would greatly reduce your incompatability problems/returns. The program can be downloaded at:

The info I need is the Pre-recorded information lead in. For example: Your DVD Pro(grade A) V 2.0 are:

00 42 00 00 01 40 C1 FD 9E D8 50 00 02 98 0C 13 .B...@....P.....
76 78 80 00 03 50 52 49 4E 43 4F 00 04 00 01 00 VX...PRINCO.....

And your Meritline brand 4.7 GB DVD-R True 2X are:

00 42 00 00 01 40 C1 FD 9E D8 50 00 02 8A 0D 14 .B...@....P.....
88 88 80 00 03 54 44 4B 47 30 32 00 04 30 30 30 .....TDKG02..000

This information would help me considerably when choosing compatible media for my DVD Burner. And, more importantly, save you and I the hassle and expense of returning non-compatible media. Please feel free to contact me with any questions or comments.

Nice idea , I hope they take notice. This is the exact reason I did NOT place my last 100 pcs spindle order with them , you can never be sure what you are getting from them. All vendors should adopt this idea.

It would be great sure...
But they would win a nice 2% marketshare with "specialist" people like us, and probably confused the remaining 98% of cutomers, introducing the idea that they can be compatibility issues...

Only small challengers can do that, not heavy,big, well known comnpanies...

I disagree with you on that klona.

All they have to do is add the last part:

PRINCO.....

or

TDKG02..000

to their product titles/model number etc and that would solve the problem without confusing people.

This info would be incomplete.

Let's take TDKG02..000:

1) there is the cheap Meritline crap x2 which says .....TDKG02..000
2) and there is the "true" TDK x2 in jewel case or bundle which says
VX...TDKG02..000

2 completly different DVD-Rs

So it would be important to display at least the entire line.
