hi,
i remember athread, but can't find it again..
it was about cutting avis and someone mentioned a tool wich was working as a frontend for nandub that had a preview-fuction so one would not cut blindly into conversations.
who knows the tool?

I don't use NanDub, so I don't know if it has a preview. But, the program it is based on, VirtualDub, does.

For splitting based on filesize open in Nandub and press Ctrl-Shift-J

I don't know such a thing, but here is a solution:
Cut based on filesize, if you're not happy with the result, you know now where the split was, redo it again, just go to a keyframe after or before, where you don't cut the dialogue, it's as simple as that.

Another method, like DJs:
Overlap the split by a single keyframe, e.g.:
--------(part 1)--------
--------(part 2)--------
There is also a front-end calculator to Nandub, called AviSplitCalc. It doesn't do what you're looking for, however. It just makes more accurate cuts by size than using Nandub alone.

Why don't u look at the movie : if characters move their lips then they may be speaking....
That's my softless methode.

thx guys for the replies. still no solution, though..
@bobo: cutting more than 2 movies becomes a hassle like this.
@jigimi: i don't like to have repeated scenes while watching a movie (it's like on some tv-station, than..) i'll try avisplit-calc.
@ben: this solution doesn't take music/sounds into account. a good split movie is seamless.

I agree with that. But finding a silence right in the middle of a movie is rather a good luck than a good soft...
Anyway you can play both parts one after another using kro$oft'player (for xple) then why would you split it like in your dreams?
I ask cuz i never thougt about where to split before because o that fact.
if i were you i'd simply "direct stream copy" the last 10 seconds of my first part to see if the cut's doig well. It takes 3second of Vdub processing...
A+
