How about a section (not forum) that identifies movies by name (to include region of the movie), that have been encoded successfully - meaning after-burning video quality, the encoding program used, and the specific process used to include settings of the encoding application? It's possible that the section would need two parts - One for DVD to DVD and One for DVD to CD, VCD, SVCD. This would most certainly eliminate a good majority of the forum questions that tend to ask about a specific movie or what settings to use in the encoding program. I know the guides give you the general idea and are somewhat standard for a typical movie, so I'm not asking that another guide be developed. For specific details in setting up the movie for encoding, people should refer to the guide. For successful quality settings for a particular movie, they could reference this section and use tried/tested encoding settings that people have used to get the best quality on the backups of their DVDs.

Again, this is just for movies that must be resized/re-processed to fit on the chosen media either DVD or CD. If the movie can be stripped down to fit on a single DVD, that is either a ripping process or an IFOEdit process.

Thx.
