View Full Version : How would you change a non anamorphic movie to be anamorphic?

I just got "The Color of Money" and the movie is non-anamorphic. I have a problem with non-anamorphic movies because I have a widescreen TV and it locks into full mode when fed a 480p signal from my dvd player therefore all my non-anamorphic movies come out looking squished vertically. I'll have to rempeg this movie anyways to fit on a dvd-5 so I was wondering if any of you know of an easy way to crop out the balck bars and resize the image to 740x480. Durring the re-encoding... I have only really used rempeg and I know it can't do this... so I was wondering if it is an option in cce or tmpeg. I also have a matrox Rt2500 at my disposal so I was wondering what you guys think would be the best way to go about doing this? Thanks for your help...

you dont have to reencode...

extract the streams using dvddecrypter or the like, and use pulldown or dvmpeg fixer and set the proper aspect ratio, then author it as a 16:9 letterbox (animorphic) dvd.
