View Full Version : 23092002-1 build and interlaced XviD content

@Koepi,
When the new build (23092002-1) is installed, XviD decoder, and possibly ffdshow, cannot playback interlaced XviD content (encoded with "enable interlacing" checked), whereas with the previous build such a problem did not occur on my system (OS: WinXP).
I just wanted to report that issue. (And sorry, I couldn't find a suitable thread for this and I opened a new one...)
best regards,
iago

Could you try creating a new interlaced avi with the current build of XviD, and see if that new stream plays back?
Interlacing went through some problems, as detailed in this thread (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=32855).

Absolutely I would, but unfortunately I deleted the vob files to gain some hard-disk space and handed back the DVD today :(. It was just encoded with the 22092002-1 build. Too bad, it's just a matter of minutes/hours actually... But maybe someone else can confirm that?

I just created and decoded an interlaced avi with Koepi's latest build. Seems you've been bitten by the interlacing bug too.
Never fear, the new builds of ffdshow from Milan have a "workaround bugs" option that lets you decode both new and old XviD interlaced avi's, so you don't have to re-encode it if you don't think you'll want to play it on some other MPEG-4 decoder some day.
