Hello Everybody..
Today i got 10 White-Label DVD-RW from www.cdr-by-mail.com with
some DataSafe , but i can not burn on WhiteLabel..
I'm using a Pioneer DVD-A04 and i had tried with firmware 1.20
and the newest 1.32....
When i burn with dvddecrypter software i got an error which says
something like ( Sence Key Error : + a lot of HEX ).
I have mailed WhiteLabel , I hope they knows...
These media are were cheap 0.9 £ each.....
I'm going to use a lot of DVD-RW for backup , i'm using the DVD-R
for film backup...
If anyone have succeed please answer....
Best Regards...
Michael.

Are you doing a complete format of the DVD-RW disc before attempting to burn it?

No
I write to it immediately ...
I use Nero Burning Rom 5.5.9.9

You don't need to format the discs before usage.
Use better media if it doesn't work.

From the offical Pioneer DVD-R FAQ:
"How should I prepare a DVD-RW disc for use?
Before writing to a new DVD-RW disc you must have performed a Full Erase on the disc to prepare it. This is only required once with a new disc and it takes about 1 hour to complete. Following this each time you need to write again you need only perform a Quick Erase and that only takes a few minutes to complete. You must perform a Full Erase prior to writing in order for a disc to play as a DVD Video in a set top DVD Player."

Pioneer says this, but it is nonsense. This is only necessary for some crap media. I guess that Pioneer supports get many questions from people who have a simple crap media problem :)
If you look into the manual, Pioneer even claims that you must use a 40 ribbon cable, not a 80 ribbon cable...

I believe that 40 vs 80 ribbon cable thing is for the A03 drive that doesn't support DMA.
For my Verbatim DVD-RW I had to do a full format to get my xbox to recognise it as a DVD Movie disc.

I believe that 40 vs 80 ribbon cable thing is for the A03 drive that doesn't support DMA.It does support DMA (it only sometimes doesn't work properly), and 80 ribbon cables of course also work with PIO mode.
For my Verbatim DVD-RW I had to do a full format to get my xbox to recognise it as a DVD Movie disc.Really? That's the first report of that kind I get...

In regards to my Verbatim -RW discs.
My Pioneer A04 was happy to write to it without being formated, just playback compability was effected. After a complete format was preformed it played back fine in my xbox.
However I'm not sure if this is what is causing the copy of DVDDcrypter that michaelvv is using to not burn to the RW disc.
