I have tried 0.30 beta to do a divx. After 8 hours I got this message:
The generated encodings and difference data could not be opened.
Error: corrupt file, or unsupported format.

This is the second time that this message appears on 0.30, so I have tried 0.26 beta. The same message appears.
This was on final stage. How to fix that?

Please check the project directory for the generated AVI files. Do they play in media player? Do they look roughly the correct size? Maybe you could try a test of a small section that will only take a few minutes and see if the same error is generated...

I have tried Highlander3 with 0.30 and no way. AVI is not played on Media Player and on Virtual Dub. Then I have tried 0.26 with a small movie. I have used X-Men interview and same problem.
I have installed DivX 5.02 and it comes with LOW and FAST form 3.11. I need to remove 5.02 and install old 3.11 and then 5.02 or there is no influence on this kind of problem?

From FairUse faq.txt

2. Answers to Common Problems and Questions

2.1. How Do I Install FairUse?

No "installation" process is necessary to use FairUse. Simply extract all
files from the distribution zip file into a directory and run the executable.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

2.2. What Version Of DivX Should I Install To Use FairUse?

None is required for FairUse to operate. The program does not require DivX
to be installed because it contains its own specific version of the codecs.
This alleviates any problems with incorrect codec versions and fixes some
codec problems (See section 3.9).

As of 0.30 beta, these codecs are contained within the FairUse executable
itself, so the files fu-fm.dll and fu-lm.dll (from earlier versions) are no
longer needed and can be deleted.

Of course if you actually want to play the AVI files generated, you will need
at least the DirectShow decoder installed. I would recommend installing
DivX version 3.11 alpha.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

For playback, simply install divx 3.11 since that is what it is based on or you can try ffdshow.

I'm not having problems to play the AVI created with FairUse, cause the AVI creation is not finished.
I have used 2 avi encoders to make a 650MB movie size. He finishes the 2 encoder and on the last step that is get 2 avis and create 1 avi he says that there is a problem.
If the codec of fairused is not the external divx and an internal, so divx codec version is not a problem.
I'm using Windows XP Pro. Can be that?

Have you got any frameserving stuff running? If so, try disabling it.

I think the problem was the Virtual Dub frameserver. Thanks and thanks. No more FairUse versions? Why?

Because real life takes priority for the moment.
