Hi all i wanted to see what people thought was the best software for DV carpturing, ive heard good things about Scenalyzer and Vegas Video 3, and mix reactions toward Premeire, so i want to hear what everyone else uses and their thoughts on it.

If it is just for capturing, Scenalyzer is my choice. It is simple and effective.

If you're talking digital cam via firewire, I use Studio 8. Along with the hollowood add on. I don't use the built in mpeg output though (quality sucks). I output as avi and then use cce to create the mpeg.

You can try the free software linked in the sticky thread "Links" in this forum.

I use the video capture tool that comes with Ulead's MediaStudio. Does exactly what I want, and I don't need to handle dozens of small AVI files.

Personally I like Premier, Capture, cut and edit then export all in one.
