It seemed like I had this working before. Xvid seems to use less cpu than divx 4 and 5 decoders and lets you select which options u want on. I tried ffdshow or whatever, had alot of cool features, but really had the worst output of all filters I've seen. It has that old blocky, like the resize uses no filters and I can't get rid of those tiny blocks.

How do I get xvid filter to handle all divx?

Hmmm, You cant at present, maybe I should add a registry key to allow decoding of DivX...

However, XviD DShow may have problems decoding B-Frames, Qpel, GMC etc at present. Your best bet is to use AviC to change your DivX's FourCC to XviD for now.

actually, I have never used divx 5 for encoding. Used divx4 then got xvid and started 2pass. U r right though, some of the downloads may be divx 5.

Thanks
