Actually a few people have ringed in with their opinions on the Sony DRU-500A. Mine is - looks good to me! I like the fact that it's a 4x burner, and supports both formats. There are some advantages in each format, and many users are worried about the format wars. This seems to be a happy medium. I've even seen a few Internet resellers quoting prices for the drive. Lowest I've seen is $330 for the internal.

I can't wait until the other 4x drives hit the market, too. Should make the 1x and 2x media even cheaper. Plus, for those "absolutely can't finish fast enough" projects, burning at 4x will be sweet.
