heres my current state

GF2 GTS NO tv out
AverTV Studio capture card

it seems my capture card is limited to 352x288 max res, any high set and VD says "invalid format" and cant capture for more then a few seconds without an error message

i am happy with the GTS though, but no TV out so i cant capture, edit and put back onto video tape.

my options-

i can get a Leadtek gf4 MX440 WITH tv out for AU$130 second hand
was bout to make that purchase when i though i could....

get a GF4ti4200 VIVO for AU$350-$400

my question is, how good of a vid capture is the ti4200 ???

http://btwincap.sourceforge.net install these drivers and you'll be able to capture at higher or full PAL/NTSC resolutions with your AverTV card.

oh ok cool.
i tried alternate drivers before for my AverTV card that were suppose to solve everything and make it capture better and it screwed up my capturing. i had to re-image my boot partition coz i couldnt even use the propietry software that came with the card, totally screwed.

well if these drivers work then u beauty, no need to look into getting a better capture card, be it a VIVO gf4 or whatever.

definately gonna make a new image of my boot drive before i try these ones though..... :)

Those drivers are very good, but they will most likely prevent you from using native applications.

I use the btwincap drivers for capturing and for watching TV I use dscaler.

Try www.digtv.ws for capturing, its a simple app and gives good quality.

Good luck!
