SAYS THE SAME!!!!!!!!!!... any idea of what the hell is happeing with that installer?... or... ANYBODY has installed succesfully Windows media 9...???

PD: I'm writing this threat here cos I've been allways here in the Xvid forum... That's why you should post it in the Alternative Formats Forum, first because you would get faster help, second because I have serious doubts that people here would try it...

But wait a moment, I did try it:

Windows Media Encoder 9
http://download.microsoft.com/download/winmediatech40/wme9b/9/NT5XP/EN-US/WMEncoder.exe

Windows Media Player 9
http://download.microsoft.com/download/winmediaplayer/WMPbeta/9/WXP/EN-US/mpsetupXP.exe

I think you have mistaken the Direct Media package with DirectX.
Anyway I think it's a piece of shait. It keeps the CPU at 100% at almost every possible moment even when setting properties!!!!!!
Setting a bitrate is almost impossible, well I really HATE IT!

A kiss to you too, Global Neighbour.

I seem to remember someone mentioning that one needed to use the english (US?) version of Direct X.

@ Shuichiro:

you should definetly try the english version... a friend of mine had the same prob, and the english version was the solution. Well, you know, it's M$...

good luck

PS: I hate myself for posting that, but here I go : direct link to M$ download page :
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/searchdl.asp?Search=Product&LangIDCODE=20%3Ben-us&Value=11234&OpSysID=925&Show=Alpha
It's for Win2k, otherwise change it on the page...

anyway, y'all should rather stick with XVID !!! :D
