According to the "Getting the best out of CCE" guide, you should add the chapter points to your .ecl file before starting your first pass. I understand that this is to create I-frames to allow the authoring program to have chapters there. However, when you change from one-pass VBR to multipass, it prompts you to save the .ecl file with your new changes. Upon examining the new .ecl, I see that the chapter points have been removed. Although it is not mentioned in the guide, I would think I need to add the chapter points again. Am I right?

I'm using CCE 2.64 if this matters...

I-frames are added during the first pass. After that pass, I-frames in an .ecl are ignored. The .vaf created in the first pass now tells CCE where to put the I-frames in subsequent passes, so you're safe.

I quit pasteing the chapters into the ecl file after the third title cos I realized that it doesn't matter. Just import them in maestro and the chapters are right wherer they are supposed to be (maybe off a frame or two, but who cares?)
