Hi all! I'm trying to encode "The Mummy Returns" but there is a little problem. The preview stats in DVD2AVI indicate that the film percentage is less than 95% for the first 1 min of the movie, the rest is greater then 95%. What should I do?. Please help me, thanks.

P.S. I've tried "forced film" for the whole movie and encoded the movie that way, but I ended up with async audio in the beginning. I believe the async in audio must have been caused by the different FPS (<95% film and >95% film). Am I right?

It's not a different framerate -- it's that the distributors' leaders are often not telecined, if they're not part of the actual content.

Doom9 recommends using Force FILM above 95% film. But that is a guideline, not an absolute. Force FILM uses the metadata, not the content itself, to remove telecined frames.

You might try a manual IVTC process instead. Here's some help --->>> http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=32826

I doubt your asynch audio trouble comes from this particular issue, you might try a different .avi player. That's because, as you know from your previous post on asynch audio, when you seek in WMP the problem "goes away" for awhile. Try Zoomplayer or BSPlayer, and see if that fixes things.

Thanks for your help, jggimi. I'll try this out when I have some free time.:)
