Ok - this is a strange one. My DVD player, when playing SVCD's always activates sub-title #1. Therefore I tried something manually. I changed the WinSubMux command line from

"G:\DVD2SVCD\WinSubMux\WinSubMux.exe" -s0 -C

to

"G:\DVD2SVCD\WinSubMux\WinSubMux.exe" -s1 -C

and this worked wonderfully on my DVD.

So I set up DVD2SVCD to have english as subtitle #2 and left subtitle #1 blank. Even with this DVD2SVCD set the command line to -s0 instead of -s1. This is not a big issue as all I do now is copy all the command lines from the log file from the muxing of the subtitles to the end and then run them in a batch file.

I just wanted to let you know

I got the same problem, my player also displays an existing sub#1 without asking me, so I always use #2 and #3.
I also set #2/3 in the subtitle tab, but DVD2SVCD always wants to do stream #1/2.
But you can do it a little easier than editing the ini-file by just selecting #2/3 in the subtitle verification screen. If you select the correct streams here, DVD2SVCD will do the muxing on the correct stream numbers.

Interesting suggestion. I will have to try it later today. I went and wrote a batch file to parse through the DVD2SVCD log and grab the WinSubMux lines. Change the "-s0" to "-s1", then rerun WinSubMux and VCDXBuild. It acutally works pretty well. But if your suggestion works then I no longer have to run the manual step.

THANKS!

btw: This is an long known issue. Just read Q9 from Q&A and you can see that the sollution was posted many months ago.
If you don't have to write your batch files any more you can use the resulting spare time to read the stickies and the Q&A here at this board. :sly:
