Hi all,
Attemping to make a ~2GB divx412 avi of Casino with ac3(5ch) audio using gKnot and I'm running into sync problems.
DVD is R2 and I had to use decomb.dll with Telecide(guide=2) final video is perfect and at 25fps as expected. I did not use decimate. I let gKnot make the movie.avs and credits.avs files and then I manually edited both of them. I've done this before without problems.
Video/audio plays fine if I play from the start of the movie, I can use 'pause' without problems, it also plays fine if I use NanDub and chop out a clip [direct video/audio copy].
Problem is if I use WMP or BSplayer and jump forward/backward audio and video are seriously [30 secs+] out of sync, machine is running at under 80% CPU and I have done similar jobs before without problems though this might be the fist time I've use Telecide AND ac3(5ch) together.
The only odd thing I noticed is that the avi has 6 frames less then expected [from gknot encode window where u specify start of credits location]. However small variations [0-3 seconds] in movie lenght from that expected is not unusual and it does not; as a rule; cause sync issues.
Suggestions welcomed, I've 10GB backed up on disk and I do need to move on ;-|
