I am using DVD2SVCD with CCE to produce SVCD from DVD rips. The results are excellent except the sound is out of synch when I play on one DVD player (a Toshiba) but is fine when I play it on another player (a Yamaha). Anyone know why?
I'm using region 2 PAL discs.
Thanks
Dave

Hi,
It seems like DVD player problem. I would browse www.vcdhelp.com or www.dvdboard.de/forum and check if there is some reference to sync problems on Toshiba.
If I'm not mistaken there were some bugs in early firmwares of Toshiba players.
Hope you'll resolve your problem..

Toshiba DVD Players dont handle SVCD very well and you get audio sync problems:)

I have found that encodes that I have done with d2s were out of sync (on my Amoisonic DVD player), until I unchecked on the CD Image tab the "Include movie info on CD" and also the "Include XML on CD".
Give that a try and see how you go.

Hey dude :)
I know allllll about the o'mighty Toshiba DVD player and its rather odd behaviour with SVCD's however after wasting lots of cdr and burning to a cdrw many times, I finally stumbled across some info,
now I have a fail safe method for making perfect SVCD's :)
1) Create SVCD through normal method setting audio to 44.1( I use DVD2SVCD)
2) Download and Install Roxio Video Pack 5 (If using XP make sure you grab the XP Update Wizard from http://www.roxio.com/en/support/roxio_support/videopack/videopack_software_updates.jhtml or it will blue screen everytime you try to burn)
3) Take your completed SVCD mpegs and Demux them and then, Remux with Roxio Video Pack
4) Burn with Video Pack (I recommend 2x speed)
5) Stop tearing hair from head and watch a perfect in synch SVCD ;)
I have found that you can burn the Remuxed file on nero and it is in sync, however the video is very jerky, also I have found that while I have managed to burn 100% SVCD using speeds above 2x with VideoPack, anything over 2x is unpredictable and unreliable causing very blocky, jerky, messy playback(Might be My burner, try and see how you go). I have also found that some programs will cut your movie badly and if this happens then VideoPack cant Remux properly and it crashes, DVD2SVCD works perfectly. I suggest you click the 'CD Image' tab and select 'Dont make images' it saves time for us Toshiba dvd users as this last step is not needed, and thus a waste of time.
I hope this helped, I remember it seriously pissed Me right off,
