Hi All!

I gave me old pc to my son, but it wont play back avi. files.

I know the software and films are okay because I use the same stuff on my new pc.

the old pc has a spec of 200mhz cpu, 8mb graphics, 64mb sdram, 4gb HDD and is running windows 95.

So which part of the hardware needs upgraded?

Many thanks for any replies received.

mainly you will need a faster cpu, but that will be the problem. the p200 was the fastest cpu from the pentium-series, then the pentium II (with 233 mhz) was introduced.
you will need a new motherboard for this cpu, maybe new ram-modules (sd-ram).

for good playback (with ffdshow-decoder) you will need a p-III with 500 mhz, iŽd say - post-processing disabled of course.
