Is there a automated way? Or am I still dreaming...
I have to convert a PAL DVD into NTSC. I have to send it to someone who has 'NTSC-only' television.
So, making it regionfree and editing the VOB's with IfoEdit is not enough.
Any help appreciated.

For me the best solution is:
1.DVD2AVI: save project as .d2v
2.Tmpgenc ---->create AVI file
3. Canopus file converter to make a NTSC AVI file.

in the .avs : resize 720*480 and assumeFPS(23.976 ). Don't forget to convert the sound and do a pulldown on the resulting video.

as jin said.. one way is u must resize to ntsc and change the framerate (deinterlacing before resize in the avs would probably be a good idea if source is interlace ) then convert the sound duration to match the video. (cool edit doest that nicely) pulldown the video to 29.97
the dirty way to do it is to do the resize but use convertFPS(23.976).. that keeps the video length the same so you dont have to mess with the audio.. but it does blend frames to try to keep it smooth.. then you pulldown.. the first method is the best way to do it. btw need newer versions of avisynth for convertFPS (i think 0.6 or higher will do)
