That's my problem. I always used win98 or ME but winxp is given me hard times in this issue. Nothing to uninstall from the configuration/software. In configuration/hardware property control i removed all audio/video codecs. But after reboot the codecs maintain. Even installing the Nimo package and subsequently deinstalling it won't work. I putted this thread in the noob section because probably it's something really easy and hadn't another place for it. Please help me out.:scared:

Settings...Control panel...Sounds and Multimedia...Hardware...Video Codecs.

(That works in W2K, anyway.)

Thanx for your effort, unfortunately i tried it. The system says something that they are in use by the system.

Hi-

How about Start-Settings-Control Panel-System-Hardware-Device Manager-Sound, Video, And Game Controllers-Video Codecs-Properties-highlight and Remove?

Or is that what you already tried?

Do the same thin as Manono and Wasbeer666 says but FIRST start up in safe mode by hitting F8 during boot and selecting safe mode. This load a minimal set of generic drivers to be able to boot. You should be able to remove them now.

@Mac and Manono

Thanx for your advice. Unfortunately I tried both and even in safe it says that the system needs the drivers. I think it's a XP bugsomething. I succeeded in removing the drivers by installing Nimo's and 5.02 package (from divx.com) and subsequently removing them by their uninstall. Not all the videocodecs were removed but im satisfied with it. I thank for your effort and putting a glance on the matter.;)

With regards,
Guido
