AC3 delay of -272 causes, audio to sound like slow-motion!

A delay of -272 which gknot indicates and uses causes the audio to sound like slow-motion. When I do the interleaving by hand with Nandub, both -272 and -270 create audio sounding like slow-motion. However, a delay of -260 creates a normal sound.

The original AC3 file is okay, but using the right delay while interleaving causes problems??? Anybody any suggestions why?

The DVD is The Sopranos S01E02 NTSC FPS 29.9 -> DivX Pro V.5.02 FPS 23.9

The DVD is The Sopranos S01E02 NTSC FPS 29.9 -> DivX Pro V.5.02 FPS 23.9Unless The Sopranos was shot on film, you should not be reducing the framerate to 23.976. Since it was intended for broadcast on HBO, it might not have been a film source.

If it was shot with video cameras, this link may help. (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=31638)

I have no idea if this has anything to do with your problem, of course.

I have ripped multiple episodes (4 so far) and only one gave me this problem (hmmmm) strange. Was just wondering what it may have been.

btw movie is over 97% film (according to gknot).

Your link is about video, but this problem is a audio problem, i think, but thanx anyway.

Hi-

It sounds to me as if it's more an interleaving problem than a delay problem. Here's a quote from the Audio FAQ:

__What interleave settings should I use to mux my AC3 in NanDub? This is by far the most difficult task for some people. It seems as though we can't have a magic set of numbers that will work for everyone. This is mostly trial and error in order to find the right values. So below is a few common interleave settings for muxing AC3 (preferably using NanDub)- 90ms/90ms 120ms/120ms
500ms/128ms
500ms/64ms
160ms/160ms (Works well for 5.1 384kbps)
128ms/128ms (Works well for 5.1 448kbps)
96ms/96ms
80ms/80ms (Works well for 2.0 192kbps)
64ms/64ms
250ms/64ms
160ms/60ms
160ms/2frames
500ms/3frames
You can find more on the subject in the AC3 Q&A (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=18318)

Hi, thanks for the reply, however I always use 500msec preload and 1 frame interleave, and this gives (almost) always perfect results.

However, you are probably right, it is probably an interleaving problem (and not an audio problem), and it is probably because of a 'wrong' combination of settings, thanks for the info m8.

Greetzzzz.

If you are having the same problem as I was just, add or subtract 1,2,5, or 10 msec until the sound doesn't get f*cked up, this work for me.
