Hello all,

I'm used to author pal unreg dvds and recently asked about authoring ntsc dvds.I hate ntsc and decided to author in pal anyway.
I'm ok with media creation and authoring but i'm wondering what kinnda problems playback may occurs if i still create it in pal.
ie is there any major probe i should be aware of if i send pal dvd to usa? Do tv sets and cpus accept it?

I know it might be a silly question but the first time i went to u.s i've asked a million times about us, french, having coca-cola and color tv or not...

THXS
Ben

The DVD spec is a bit of a pain here.

NTSC DVD players can only read NTSC discs (there are some out there with built in conversion circuitry but it's not part of the DVD spec)
PAL DVD players can read both PAL and NTSC

So to answer your question, if you want your DVDs to run with no hassles in NTSC countries like Japan and the USA, use NTSC. This applies to set top players - PAL will work fine on any PC.
