I have some NTSC video I captured with my USB Instant DVD. I capped it at Full D1 resolution 5 MB/s CBR. It's roughly 2 hours and 45 minutes long, and about 6 GB in size. I've recorded it into two streams, and MPV and MPA.

Can anyone clue me in on the proper CCE settings for this type of video? I've experimented with various settings and gotten mixed results, usually choppy video or sync problems.

Thanks for the help.

Choppy video: Probably you have selected the wrong field order. Try unchecking the box (selecting the other option) and see if your choppy video improves. Best way is to cutout about 5 minutes or so of video and use this as a test clip (instead of 2.75 hours).

Sync problems: Have you played with the audio any? Sometimes, captures from TV have sync problems (this is especially true with caps from tape) if the horizontal sync is not at the correct amplitude. Try muxing the audio and video together and see if they play in sync.

Settings for CCE:
Let's see,

This is interlaced, so usually don't do ZIG-ZAG (but sometimes, this can give better results).
NOT progressive
DVD COMPLIENT
16-235
DCT precision AUTO
TIME 00:00:00

GOP 3 - 4 (for 12 picture GOP)

3 pass VBR
2Mbps min,
3.6 - 4.0 Mbps avg,
5Mbps max (no since going over your max).

Of course, don't process the audio in CCE.

These settings are off the top of my head, so if there is anything I didn't answer, give me a holler.
