i recently installed a new asus a7m266-d motherboard with an asus v8200 deluxe video card, running windows 2000. installed latest agp miniport and ide drivers. the problem is, some games run WAY to fast. for example, in counterstrike it seems as if the game is running at the maximum speed of the video card, so everything is just too too fast. unreal tournament is the same. during the beginning cinema, the playback jerks forward at max speed every other second or so. in grand theft auto the cinema playback is the same as in unreal tournament. i have already tried reinstalling miniport drivers and nvidia drivers.

one interesting thing too. during the unreal tournament beginning cinema, if i moving my mouse (logitech optical) around really fast the playback speeds up as well. but this is only with unreal tournament. i tried changing the mouse settings to see if it affects it. it doesn't.

any ideas as to why i have this wierd problem?

if your running winXP,did games play o.k before you updated the ide and video drivers.if you updated the drivers without playing a game first try going back to the drivers xp configured at install.nvidia drivers can cause hastles and depending on your chipset so can ide drivers.
Are you doin any OCing, with twin SLK-800's and a Geforce3 it would be real tempting. If so try running stock standard.
