Hi!
I am new to this great forum. I ripped several DVDs "manually", till I found DVD2SVCD. This tool helps me to make much better SVCDs in a much easier way than before. Thank You!!!
It may sound strange, but the menu-ability of SVCDs is that, what gives me the real feeling of a DVD in opposite to divx i.e.(and the standalone - compatibility of course). The more I want the title pic to be shown properly and longer than 5 seconds. I searched the forum for this issue and came to two conclusions:
1)There is an earlier thread, in which gerti67 described, how to let the titlepic be played infinite. And because the philosophy of DVD2SVCD is automation, I decided to write a little program to automate this process. I attached it to this post. This is no advanced stuff, installing it is as simple as the program itself. You just have to put the "setdelay.exe" in your main DVD2SVCD-folder and execute it. Type in the number of seconds, the titlepic should be shown and that was it. Now open DVD2SVCD and make sure, VCDXBuild is choosen to create your images. If you want to change the time, you have to execute "setdelay.exe" again.
"setdelay.exe" creates the file "delay.bat", which first executes the "setdelay.exe" with the right parameters to change the xml - script of the first CD, than it executes the "VCDImager\VCDXbuild.exe" to build the images. It also rewrites the "DVD2SVCD.ini", after copying it to "DVD2SVCDold.ini", so that the "delay. bat" is executable for VCDXbuild instead of the "VCDImager\VCDXbuild.exe".
2)If you want a good title pic, donīt let it make DVD2SVCD. I make it myself with VCDEasy(Mjpeg Tools). For PAL you have to choose a 768x576, for NTSC a 640x480 source bitmap. With VCDEasy you will get an original, high quality, fullscreen Still MPEG with the right aspect ratio, which you can choose in DVD2SVCD for title picture. For Change CD the same. Give it a try!
