Hi,
I encountered a few DVD's now which has a NON-sequential VOBid sequence. This means that the movie starts at VOBid 10 and then resumes with VOBid 3..
The problem of playing the wrong sequence is caused by IFOedit, it somehow doesn't support this strange type of movies.
Examples: The fast and the furious, End of days (both region 2)

I searched the forum and found a solution, but it's not a very neat one, because i have to copy the old IFO over the generated one.
And it still isn't perfect because at the end of the movie i see some part of the beginning-titles

Isn't there another way of doing this? Maybe a new feature in IFOedit, like "Get sequence from old IFO"

I've copied Fast and Furios R2 with no probs.
I'll have a look at this title tinight, to get a clue about the VobID sequences.

Thanx Derrow!

It is not noticable right at start, i think it was at about 9 mins watching, then i saw the blue globe again, which should only appear at the start.
"End of Days" will start wrong immediatly.
I will rip this one again this evening and try IFOupdate to see if that can do the trick for movies like these
I finally got it working, maybe i can send the wrong IFO ?

Regards,

Rinkel

Well, it did work with End of Days, but not with Fast&Furious.
I cannot use IFOupdate, cause of multi-pgc

So Fast&Furious is not working correctly.

@Derrow: did you look at the movie ? at 8/9 minutes you'll see the start-logo again

= ok,
don't hurry, i managed to make a good working version of f&f, but i think it's something to look into, because more moves have problems like this..
A very good example is End of Days, but this one can be corrected with IFOupdate.

Thanks

I'm having the same problem. Ripped Rose Red with DVDdecrypter. After stripping menu's etc. and remuxing, the movie does not start at the beginning. Any idea as yet on how to correct this problem?

well, is has to do with the timeline within the IFO. Somehow IfoEdit doesn't look very well at this. There are 2 options you can try:

1)
IFOupdate, read the IFOupdate instructions, dont get confused by the names of the paths you have to fill in

2)
Do everything the same as you normally do. But in VOB-extra's don't select "Correct navigation pointers" or something like that.
After stripping etc.
Then copy the ORIGINAL IFO to your new directory and start IFOedit.
Then goto VOBextra's and deselect everything. The select "Correct navigation pointers"
Now the timeline could be ok

Hope this works.

I'll give these methods a try in a few days, appreciate the response. One question though, where can I find the instructions for IFOupdate?
