As a engineer working on progressive scan, I need so many discs to check performance of progressive scan solutions from many different suppliers.
So I want to create my own test disc.
This is what I have done:
1. decrypt these discs to my hard disc. DONE!
2. extract those clips that I want. DONE!

So now I get about more thant 10 VOB files in my hard disc. Some for video source de-interlacing performance, some for film source progressive
scan performance, the others are for mixed content performance.

Now the problem is:
How to re-author these VOB files from different discs?
One way is to use IfoEdit by "VOB Extras"-->"Create new VIDEO_TS.IFO & VTS_01_0.IFO".
It works! But the NEW disc have only 1 Chapter. And of course, there is no scene selction.

How to maintain 10 chapters in the NEW disc, or how to create a new scene selection?

Of course, I don't want to do some conversion and author it again to lose any picture quality.
What I want to do is to author the VOB directly.

loosing quality.

When u demux author a dvd u dont loose quality. there is no need to reencode, transcode the m2vs, just use them as they r.

A simple photoshop menu with the appropriate selection buttons will do the trick. U can even use the lowest end dvd authoring progs for this. Even MyDVD bundled with A03 will do.

Thanks a lot for your reply.
After reading the VOBedit Guide on Derrow's home page, I know how to change the VOB ID by VOBEdit.
With the new VOB files, you can use IfoEdit to create the new VTS_TS and VTS_01 file.

There comes another problem, the IfoEdit will conside these VOB file is only 1 chapter.
It's not convenient to use the new DVD disc as there is no chapter selcetion.

Yekai,

It's been awhile since I did it but I think I used Vobedit to take several seperate vob files, each containing a separate chapter from different DVDs, and combine them into one vob with chapter stops at each of the original vobs(chapters).

I seem to remember having to renumber/rename the vob files in sequential order then have vobedit merge them.

That's right.
By adding programs, to PGCs, and adding Chapter-points to this programs, you can now create chapters.

I'll write a guide, how to do that, so just be patient.
