Ok, I've read about the audio sync problems in the last half of Kate & Leopold in the other forums, and the basic answer given was to run it through IFOEdit. This fixes the VOBs so that they're in sync, but when I encode it, the audio de-syncs about half-way through the movie. Anyone able to work around this in some other way than manually chopping and resyncing the bits?

Just to post the resolution I used (in case other folks search and find this post), I used Nandub and saved off the first part of the film that had no sync issues. Then, I manually tweaked the interleaving values for muxing the MP3 in and saved off that chunk of the AVI. I then kept going until the next area that I detected the audio going out of sync and repeated the process.

I ended up with about 4 or 5 chunks total, but the audio was in sync.

I had the same problem. I simply demuxed the audio / video and used sonicfoundry audio editor to stretch/shrink it and then re-muxed. Everything came out fine.
