I ripped already like 6 DVD's with all very good video and audio quality.
But today I cannot get a AC3 file with good quality anymore (it stutters (hope that's an english word)).

the sound in the VOB files is fine.

I already tried different demux ways.
I used DVD2AVI to extract the ac3 file from the VOB files on my harddisk and I tried to demux directly from de DVD using DVDdecrypter.

Nothing works and its not with one DVD, I tried 'Memento', 'what women want' and 'Gone in 60 seconds'.
Last week I already ripped 'Gone in 60 seconds' and the quality was fine.

I also tried it on another PC, but still same bad quality...

Hope anyone can help.

BTW if I do try to get a .mp3 from the bad .ac3 file I only get 4kb and then the process goes to the DIVX5 first pass (using Gknot)

Use Smartripper to Demux both Video and Audio from the VOBS on the DVD directly.

You will then end up with an *.mpv (video) and *.ac3 (dolby digital) file.

You can load the *.mpv file into DVD2AVI and then use Save Project to save a *.d2v file ready to import into an encoder like CCE.

Once you have recompressed the video (if needs be)

Load your new *.mpv file and your *.ac3 into an authoring program, like Spruceup, and there you go.

Hope This Helps,
