Just a general question - im trying to remux an m2v file that I had re-encoded in TMPG and the progress bar goes blank and the program stops responding. I know its doing SOMETHING because its hogging up system resources. The new m2v file is only 3.6gigs and I let the program do its thing for about 5 hours. I came back and it is still going.. Does it normally take this long? Like I said the progress bar went blank so I have to idea if its making any progress.

Any help is appreciated!

I'm having the same problem. I'm guessing it has more to do with the way TMPG encoded the m2v than with ifoedit. Or it could be that this newer version of ifoedit (.92 and above) may have broken something in the remux function. I just dont know. I've tried encoding with tmpg using different settings but I've had no luck. Let me know if you figure out how to get ifoedit to not freeze up. There's been several other posts concerning this issue, try doing a search. One says to set the output interval sequence header on the GOP to 1 instead of 0. I'm gonna try that and see if it works.

use IFOedit .6 to remux.

this solved my freezing problems.

Well I just remuxed a second try and it worked. Maybe i forgot to set the GOP interval the first time but i am pretty sure that i was reading the guide when I did it.

Thanks guys, ill download .6 just for re-muxing

guys, I set the interval sequence header on the GOP to 1 instead of 0 in tmpg and my ifoedit .92 worked flawlesly. No freezing.

Now I have a new problem though. I was looking back over my project and it seems that the TMPG Template file that ifoedit(version .88) creates for me is too short. Have you guys had this problem. My file marks the last I frame at around frame 123,600. However, the movie has at least an additional 3,000 frames. Have you guys experienced this?

is there any other method of remuxing besides ifoedit? My cce video file plays great by itself, but after i remux it with ifoedit.. there is a pause in the video for about half a second and after that.. the entire movie has an audio delay. Also when playing the file the video is very choppy - almost like real quick bursts of like 100 frames and then a pause and so on...
I probably could use scenarist or maestro to remux but then what is the point of re-authoring just because ifoedit wont work?

Taokane - I never really checked that before.. My DVD menu stuff is all in a seperate vob file so i figured that it doesnt matter. ...Correct me if im wrong.
